Welcome To The San Remo Civic Association
Monthly Meetings Cancelled Until Further Notice
We trust you are doing well and staying safe during this challenging time. In keeping with the recommended social distancing, we have cancelled our events until further notice. This includes the SRCA Riverfront Egg Hunt.
However, I do have some good news to share.
Easter Egg Hunt: This is a massive event that brings together our community with over 250 children hunting eggs and meeting Peter Rabbit. It comes with a lot of planning, investment and work - all managed by our amazing member, Josephine Ferrara. Back in January, she and her team filled nearly 2400 eggs with chocolates! That's a lotta eggs! So that you can enjoy your own family hunt - she has packaged these up in bags of 50 eggs to distribute! These bags are available on a first come, first service basis.
The offer expires next week - Wednesday, April 8th, when they will be donated.
Get on the phone today to order yours:
1) Call/Text Josephine at 631.353.1324 and provide your San Remo address
2) She will drop the bag of eggs to your mail box
3) Please respect this process and do not show up at her home.
Josephine is an example of the power of one person. She had an idea, presented the idea and gained the support of the SRCA. For the past few years now, this event gathers over 250 children and families at our Riverfront to meet Peter Rabbit and chase after the "golden egg". This Easter, she is unwilling to disappoint these children and has adjusted. Thank you, Josephine! This is an example we all need to follow. It's about adjusting to this "new normal". It's critical now to look at what IS working in our lives...what we DO have, not what we don't.
Playground and Basketball Court: In keeping with the Town of Smithtown and mandatory social distancing, we have closed the park.
Neighbors - if you are in need of help due to this virus, there are many people who have extended their assistance. Grocery pick up, a phone call, or a drive by birthday beep - please let us know. We will do all we can to help you.
Praying for our community and our nation,
