Members & Neighbors:

As you may or may not be aware, I am sitting on the committee for the Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI).  This is NOT about me and all about The San Remo Civic Association having a seat at the table to know what is going on and have some say.

Please participate!  Get involved!   See the e-mail below that I was asked to share.

There are links at the bottom where you will be able to see the application that was submitted by Smithtown to the State for this award.  This is the 7th round of awards given so I also recommend you view what local towns previously won this award, their plan and perhaps even going to the town to see the status today.  Please take the time to read through the detail so you are fully informed.

Sincerely,

Joseph M J Johnson

President of The San Remo Civic Association

Kings Park Community Survey now open; 1st Downtown Revitalization Initiative community workshop meeting on June 6 @ 6-8PM

In January 2024, Governor Kathy Hochul announced that Kings Park was the winner of $10 million in Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) funding. The DRI works to transform downtown neighborhoods into vibrant communities. There are many ways you can be actively involved in your community’s DRI process including upcoming community meetings.

Our first Community Meeting will be held Thursday, June 6, 2024, at 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at R.J.O. Intermediate School, Cafeteria Room, 99 Old Dock Rd, Kings Park, NY 11754. At the community event, participants will be introduced to the DRI program and provide input on the vision, goals, and potential projects.

Please share your feedback on the vision and goals for Kings Park by taking this short survey:
